Privacy Policy for NRG

This privacy policy describes how the app NRG ("the app", bundle ID dev.christianhoney.nrg) handles your data. The controller is Christian Honey (contact: support@nrg-app.com).

Summary

• There is no user account.
• The app collects no personal data and uses no tracking, no advertising and no analytics tools.
• All settings stay locally on your device.
• Your location is only used to retrieve fuel stations, charging points and prices – where needed, coordinates are sent to the respective data providers (see below). It is not stored.

Location data

The app uses your location to

• find fuel stations and charging points near you,
• plan routes and show fuel stations along the route,
• optionally notify you about low prices while driving.

For the notification feature, your location may also be processed in the background while this feature is active. Your location is processed on the device and – depending on the country, as coordinates or a region derived from them – sent to the data providers listed below in order to retrieve nearby fuel stations, charging points and prices. The app provider does not store your location. You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings.

Notifications

Price and route notifications are created as local notifications on the device. No data is sent to a push server.

Data stored locally

Settings (e.g. default search radius, fuel type, notification options) and a temporary cache of recently retrieved station data are stored exclusively on your device and are not shared with third parties.

Third-party services

To display maps, calculate routes and retrieve fuel station, charging point and price data, the app connects to the following services. Their own privacy policies apply to their processing:

• Apple Maps / MapKit (maps, geocoding, routes, address search) – apple.com/legal/privacy
• Tankerkönig (fuel prices Germany, data: MTS-K, CC BY 4.0) – creativecommons.tankerkoenig.de
• E-Control (fuel prices Austria)
• data.economie.gouv.fr (fuel prices France)
• Geoportal Gasolineras, Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica (fuel prices Spain)
• DGEG (fuel prices Portugal)
• MIMIT (fuel prices Italy)
• petrol.lu and OpenStreetMap / Overpass API (prices and locations Luxembourg)
• CRE (fuel prices Mexico)
• Fuel Finder (fuel prices United Kingdom) – retrieved via a relay server operated by the app provider on Amazon Web Services (London region), see below
• Open Charge Map and GoingElectric (charging points)

Only the information needed for the request is sent (location coordinates or region and search radius), no personal identifiers. For Italy, Luxembourg and Mexico the app downloads complete lists and filters them on the device – no location is sent there. As with any internet connection, the servers contacted technically receive your IP address.

Relay server for the United Kingdom

For prices in the United Kingdom, the app sends coordinates and search radius to a server operated by the app provider on Amazon Web Services (region eu-west-2, London). It retrieves the data from Fuel Finder and returns only the nearby stations. The server stores neither your location nor your IP address; AWS processes connection data only as technically required to provide the service (aws.amazon.com/privacy). This server is only contacted for locations in the United Kingdom.

Rating request

The app may occasionally ask for a rating using Apple's standard feature. No data is sent to the app provider in the process.

No sharing / no selling

No data is sold or shared for advertising or tracking purposes.

Children

The app is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated when necessary. Changes will be published on this page with a new date.
